Children explore and refine their senses through materials that help them notice, compare, classify and understand qualities such as size, shape, colour, texture and sound. - Language
Children build language through conversation, stories, sounds, reading and writing. They move from exploring spoken language to understanding its written form. - Mathematics
Children experience mathematical ideas concretely, working with quantity, number, place value and the operations before gradually moving towards abstract understanding. - Culture
Children explore the world around them through geography, history, science, nature, art and music, developing an understanding of their place in the wider world.
Montessori Elementary
Having developed physical independence, practical life skills, language and mathematical understanding in the Primary, children enter the Elementary classroom ready to develop greater intellectual independence. Through Cosmic Education, they explore the interconnectedness of the world and their place within it.
They are introduced to Biology, History, Geography, Art and Music, while continuing to deepen their understanding of Language and Mathematics through increasingly complex work and independent exploration.
